Church of San Ildefonso
Church of San Ildefonso
The church of San Ildefonso was built in 1248 in the suburb of San Ildefonso and located in the square with the same name. In this square there is sculpture of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, carved in stone by the sculptor Amadeo Ruiz Olmos on the basis of the restructuring of the square in 1957.
Due to the «Descent of the Virgin» in 1430, this temple gained enormous consideration and was transformed into a sanctuary and, later, into a minor basilica, of the patron saint of the region.
